Historically, personal care products were devoid of plastic packaging, with soap being in bar form and hair care items adopting a powder presentation.
While plastic bottles are a common packaging choice for shampoo, only a minimal percentage of them undergo recycling which may seem something staggering to hear in the 21st century.
Some brands have introduced solid shampoos as an eco-friendly alternative that eliminates the need for plastic packaging — but their presence in the international market is negligible.
In the present day, personal care products dominate entire sections in grocery stores. Eliminating plastic packaging poses a considerable challenge.
